THE CLIENT

Victoria College Environmental Fashion Show (VEFS) is a student-led club at the University of Toronto dedicated to raising awareness about the negative impact of fast fashion on the environment. Comprised of passionate U of T students, VEFS provides a platform for creative expression while advocating for sustainability. Student designers within the club create outfit collections exclusively from second-hand clothing, handmade, and sustainable materials.

With a commitment to taste and quality, Vegholic strives to redefine the vegan dining experience, making it a delightful choice for all.

THE OBJECTIVE

VEFS aims to challenge the norms of fast fashion and promote sustainability through creative expression. By organizing fashion shows featuring collections made from eco-friendly materials, VEFS seeks to raise awareness among U of T students about the importance of ethical fashion choices. Additionally, VEFS prioritizes inclusivity and diversity by casting student models without restrictions, fostering a supportive and empowering environment where students of all backgrounds and body types can confidently walk the runway.

THE SOLUTION

Over the past three years, VEFS has experienced significant growth and success. From 40 members to 120, and from a one-day show to a three-day weekend event, VEFS has expanded its reach and impact within the U of T community. Recognized by VUSAC (Victoria University Students' Administrative Council), VEFS is poised to become an officially recognized event at U of T, supported by the Arts and Culture division at Victoria College. This recognition reflects VEFS's commitment to pushing the boundaries of student-led initiatives and promoting sustainability through innovative fashion showcases.
